Rate limits
Rate limits
Through api.igh.app and MCP, per home (the gateway's cloud account):
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Requests | 50 a second and 600 a minute (WebSocket messages included) |
| WebSocket connections | 20 at a time |
| Accept agent requests | 5 a minute, 30 an hour |
| Request body | 16 KiB |
Over a limit the answer is 429 rate_limited with retryAfter (seconds) in the body and a Retry-After header: wait that long. On the home network there are no rate limits, but the units themselves are slow: don't send more than a few commands a second to one unit.
Examples
(Too many requests through the cloud in one second.)
GET /v1/state
Answer 429:
{
"error": {
"code": "rate_limited",
"message": "Too many requests for this home. Wait and try again.",
"retryAfter": 1
}
}
